Impressionism In Jazz Series

Krista explores the dynamic cross-pollination among jazz and modern classical artists George Gershwin, Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, Duke Ellington, Marian McPartland, Miles Davis, Bill Evans and others.  The resulting combustion of sound and inspiration changed the world of music forever and reverberates to this day.

 

Marian McPartland & Friends:  A Centennial Celebration of a Life in Music (Series)

     In this series, you will be treated to Marian McPartland's story and the music that made her a household name around the globe. Krista Seddon is a McPartland scholar who collaborated with McPartland for ten years. Publication of their work together can be found at Alfred Music, Marian McPartland Portraits, The Second Set.

 

The Power of Music (Series) 

In this series, Krista will focus on the power of music to articulate our emotions and our shared human experience through artists such as Herbie Hancock, Scott Jopin, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Stevie Wonder and many others! Program titles and set lists are available upon request.

 

The Connections Between Classical Music and Jazz (Series)

Krista will take us on a journey into the lives and works of some of the world's most fascinating musicians, such as George Gershwin, Cole Porter,

Duke Ellington & Billy Strayhorn, Frederic Chopin, Claude Debussy, and others.
